South Africa knocked host nation, France out of the 2023 Rugby World Cup after a thrilling quarter-final in Paris last night (October 15).
The epic encounter was played at the Stade de France and lived up to expectations as a game of the narrowest margins.
The Springboks are always a difficult side for Les Blues to overcome but they would have fancied their chances this time around on home soil.
However, the Springboks spoiled the Parisians' party as they came from behind to defeat the host nation.
Thomas Ramos' penalty handed the French a narrow lead at the interval after both sides scored three tries in a pulsating first half, according to the BBC.
Ramos was in good form in the game and added another three points for France after the half-time break.
The return of talismanic captain, Antoine Dupont for Les Blues seemed like it would pay off but the defending champions fought back against a brutal onslaught.
France had the support of the home fans and with minutes counting down, they looked to keep the ball alive and muster a last-minute win, before the Springboks won a turnover.
South Africa will now face England in the next round as they hope to defend their title in Paris. The other semi-finals will see Argentina take on Rugby Championship foes, New Zealand.
